What is OSHIIT Fitness?

The best way to
look fit, is to

OSHIIT Fitness is based on the concept of "If you want to look fit, it helps to be fit."

And fitness is achieved fastest through SuperMax workouts. This means working out at levels above what you can sustain. This of course means that you can do each task for only a very brief amount of time and then must stop and rest before continuing. For cardio workouts, this means work hard for a short period, then rest, and repeat. This style of cardio is generally referred to as High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). For weight training, this means breaking up the reps so that you can work with more weight than you could do with a standard 8-10 rep set. However, this style of weight training is for the advanced phases of training and should not be attempted by beginners. The beginner and intermediate phases of OSHIIT training will prepare you for these advanced exercises.

Getting fit is important for women, who want a lean tone FIT-LOOKING body, not bulk

Most people who go to a gym do so because they want to look fit. However, they never do any exercises that have any hope of ever making them fit. They typically do slow cardio on an elliptical or treadmill. Slow "fat-burning zone" cardio is basically a waste of time. It won't get you fit, and it won't burn enough calories to have any real impact on your weight. Weight lifting is actually better at getting you fit and burning off fat. However, the weight workouts most people do are geared towards making them bigger and stronger, not fitter. So getting fit, the most important part of the equation is simply left out! Getting fit is especially important for women, who generally want a lean tone FIT-LOOKING body, not bulk.

OSHIIT Fitness is for those who actually want to get fit - AND LOOK FIT. Most people spend hours twirling around in aerobics classes or on the treadmill barely breaking a sweat. Those types of workouts have been clinically proven to do little to get you fit (or burn fat for that matter).
Slim BellyThat's the irony: Study after study has proven that traditional "Fat-burning zone" workouts burn very little fat. And they do almost nothing to get you fit. In fact, you'd be shocked at how many aerobics instructors can't get through even the basic OSHIIT workouts (But you can be doing them in no time). That's because typical aerobic workouts do little to get you fit. And how are you going to look fit if you aren't fit?

On the other hand, it has been proven that even short periods of high intensity interval training will make you more fit than long drawn out fat-burning workouts AND they will cause your body to release growth hormones.
Improving your hormone levels will help restore the more youthful fat distribution you had when you were in your twenties and thirties (i.e. less fat around the waist and thighs). It will also help reduce the visceral fat that accumulates around abdominal organs as we get older. Not only is visceral fat unhealthy and increases your risk of heart disease, it gives you a larger waistline. Also, OSHIIT workouts burn more calories than "fat-burning zone" workouts.

A single OSHIIT Tabata drill, which is only four minutes, will actually cause you to burn more calories than an hour of "fat-burning zone" cardio! This is due to the EPOC (Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption). These are the calories that you burn AFTER the workout over the next 24 hours. However, for you to get the EPOC effect, you must give your all to the workout.

Notice that the TOTAL calories burned due to only 4 minutes of Tabata was greater the the total calories burned due to 60 minutes of Fat Zone Cardio. Also note the change in fitness levels. The 4-minute Tabata group improved their fitness level more than the 60-minute group!

So, if your current cardio workouts aren't getting the results you hoped for, try this and in no time,
you too will be saying
"OSHIIT! I'm getting fit"

Who wants to look like Olive Oyl?

While many diet/exercise programs are good at making you skinny, the OSHIIT fitness programs are designed to get you fit and strong, not just skinny. Who wants to look like Olive Oyl? The workouts will improve your cardiovascular health, aerobic and anaerobic capacity, bone density, and overall body strength. The men's programs focus on increasing muscle size, while the women's programs focus on making your muscles lean and tone.
There are various programs, from basic fitness for those who just want to feel and look good in their body - to extreme fitness programs for the serious athlete. The extreme program workouts are hands on your knees, gasping for air, veins popping, heart rate maxed out, sweat pouring off your body fitness. None of the programs are easy, but the results are amazing. And all of the workouts are designed to make you fitter. In fact, most of my clients friends and family start noticing the change at only about two weeks into the program!
Each program is broken down into levels, from beginner to advanced. Each level prepares you for the next level. When you can complete the workouts at your current level, you are ready to move up to the next. Some of the programs can be done at home using bodyweight exercises, while the advanced programs require basic weightlifting equipment.
