intermediate phases of OSHIIT training will
prepare you for these advanced exercises.
Getting fit is important for women, who want a lean tone FIT-LOOKING
body, not bulk
Most people who go to a gym do so because they want to look fit. However, they
never do any exercises that have any hope of ever making them fit. They
typically do slow cardio on an elliptical or treadmill. Slow "fat-burning zone" cardio is
basically a waste of time. It won't get you fit, and it won't burn enough
calories to have any real impact on your weight. Weight lifting is actually
better at getting you fit and burning off fat. However, the weight workouts most people do are geared towards making
them bigger and stronger, not fitter. So getting fit, the most important part of the equation is simply left
out! Getting fit is especially important for women, who generally want a lean
tone FIT-LOOKING body, not bulk.
OSHIIT Fitness is for those who actually want to get fit - AND
LOOK FIT. Most people spend
hours twirling around in aerobics classes or on the treadmill
barely breaking a sweat. Those types of workouts have been clinically proven to
do little to get you fit (or burn fat for that matter).

workouts burn very little fat. And they do almost nothing to get you fit. In
fact, you'd be shocked at how
many aerobics instructors can't get through even the basic OSHIIT workouts (But
you can be doing them in no time). That's because typical aerobic workouts do
little to get you fit. And how are you going to
look fit if you aren't fit?
On the other hand, it has been proven that even short periods of high intensity interval
training will make
you more fit than long drawn out fat-burning workouts AND they will cause your body to release growth hormones.
your hormone levels will help restore the more youthful fat
distribution you had when you were in your twenties and thirties (i.e. less
fat around the waist and thighs). It will
also help reduce the visceral fat that accumulates around abdominal organs as we
get older. Not only is visceral fat unhealthy and increases your risk of heart disease, it
gives you a larger waistline. Also, OSHIIT workouts burn more calories than
"fat-burning zone" workouts.
A single OSHIIT Tabata drill, which is only four minutes,
will actually cause you to burn more calories than an hour of "fat-burning zone"
cardio! This is due to the EPOC (Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption). These
are the calories that you burn AFTER the workout over the next 24 hours.
However, for you to get the EPOC effect, you must give your all to the workout.

Due to EPOC
Notice that the TOTAL calories burned due to only 4 minutes of Tabata was
greater the the total calories burned due to 60 minutes of Fat Zone Cardio. Also
note the change in fitness levels. The 4-minute Tabata group improved their fitness
level more than the 60-minute group!
